Last night, we announced that we are launching a scholarship opportunity to study English in Cardiff, Wales, for 2 weeks. The responses have been overwhelmingly wonderful! We are absolutely humbled by your enthusiastic response to the announcement of this program. It’s an exciting time for us, and we are glad that YOU can be a part of it, too.
Many of you asked about the program and are jumping at the opportunity to apply, and we are here to help you with all the information you need!
Q: What is the GGI x Cardiff Scholarship?
A: This scholarship is awarded by Go Global Indonesia and Celtic English Academy in Cardiff, Wales, to study English and experience the local culture for 2 weeks.
Q: What are the requirements to apply?
A: You need to be:
– 18 – 25 years old at the time of departure
– Active on your social media, and
– Excited to learn English in its native culture!
Q: How do I apply?
A: Simply follow these steps to participate for this scholarship!
– Register as a volunteer of Bina Antarbudaya on https://afsindonesia.org/volunteer/volunteer-inquiry-form/
– Post a one-minute video of yourself on Instagram talking about why we should pick YOU for this scholarship. Be as creative as you can!
– Repost this picture on Instagram with your own caption themed “Why learning English is important to you.”
– Make sure that your video and caption are in English, and tag @goglobalindonesia #GGICardiffScholarship #SocmedCompetition
– Get your friends and followers to LIKE your post!
Q: Do I need to fill the application form in the website?
A: No. Simply follow the steps above.
Q: When is the deadline?
A: The deadline is on January 15, 11.59 PM. All submissions after that will not be considered.
Q: Where do I post the videos and picture?
A: Instagram!
Q: How many posts do I have to make?
A: You need to make two separate posts; one for the video (for one video only!), and one for the picture and caption.
Q: When will the winner be announced?
A: The winner will be announced on Saturday, January 19.
Q: How many people will win the scholarship?
A: At the moment, we will only be awarding it to one person.
Q: When will the winner go to Cardiff for the program?
A: The estimated departure is mid-March. This allows enough time to sort out the visa and paperwork needed for the program.
Q: What is included in the scholarship?
A: The scholarship includes tuition fee (click here for program description), full board accommodation (including meals), and opportunities for many fun experiences in the city!
Q: What is NOT included in the scholarship?
A: No, the scholarship does not cover passport, visa, flight, and insurance. However, we will provide a visa sponsorship letter for your visa application.
Q: What happens if I can’t afford the flight tickets?
A: Don’t be discouraged! There are other ways to raise money for your travels, such as crowdfunding, sponsorships, bake sales, tutoring, and many others!
Q: I’m under 18 years old. Can I still apply?
A: If you will be 18 years old by the time of departure, you are eligible to apply. However, please remember that you need to be at least 18 years old to go on this trip.
Q: I’m not a ‘Celebgram.’ Is that okay?
A: Definitely! There are other factors that come into consideration aside from the followers you have. We strongly encourage you to apply!
Q: What if I have college at the time of the program?
A: We can provide you a notification letter for your University, but you will need to excuse yourself from class for 2 weeks.
Q: Is this scholarship program going to be a routine?
A: We can’t tell you just yet. Stay tuned!
