The orientation also included cultural visits to some of Jakarta’s most iconic landmarks. The students explored Masjid Istiqlal, the largest mosque in Indonesia, and the Cathedral Church, which stands as a symbol of the country’s religious diversity. They also participated in a pottery-making activity, giving them hands-on craftsmanship experience.
After the orientation, the students were assigned to their respective host communities: Semarang, Palembang, Bogor, and Pontianak. Each city provided a distinct environment for them to deepen their understanding of Indonesian culture, marking the beginning of a transformative exchange and personal growth experience. The program will conclude on December 20, 2024.
