By living with a host family in a city framed by Wonders of the World, students can begin to learn how to form bridges between two different worlds. Students will experience day to day life in a predominantly Islamic country and stay with Egyptian host families.
Students will learn some basic Arabic in order to be able to communicate with their families or new friends. A visit to the pyramids of Giza is a must, in addition to a boat trip along the Nile. Students will also visit the Al-Azhar Mosque in Cairo and participate in discussions, debates, and lectures by scholars. Participants will also visit some of the most important sites in Cairo and hear all the historic stories about Islam and religious diversity in Egypt. STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) activities will also be integrated throughout the program. STEAM activities enrich STEM education by incorporating art and design, fostering creativity, interdisciplinary collaboration, and enhancing communication skills. They also promote critical thinking, connect STEM concepts to the real world, and cultivate a lifelong love for learning. By embracing the STEAM approach, individuals can develop a well-rounded skill set and contribute to a more innovative and inclusive society.
