Discover the breathtaking natural beauty of Canada and experience the unique charm of its four distinct seasons. From tranquil lakes to vast green landscapes, Canada offers unforgettable experiences for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. The warmth and hospitality of its people will make participants feel at home, while the friendships they build will become cherished memories that last a lifetime.
This program takes place in the Ottawa-Carleton School District, located in Ottawa, Canada’s capital city, with a population of nearly one million. Ottawa is known as a safe, clean, and welcoming mid-sized city that offers all the advantages of a capital, including world-class museums, entertainment venues, cultural attractions, and many other exciting destinations.
As one of Canada’s premier outdoor cities, Ottawa is home to the Rideau Canal, the world’s longest naturally frozen skating rink, and the Greenbelt, a protected green space spanning more than 200 km² across the city. Participants also enjoy easy access to Gatineau Park, a spectacular 360 km² park renowned for its stunning natural scenery and outdoor recreation opportunities. The combination of vibrant urban life and abundant natural beauty makes Ottawa an ideal destination for students.
Through the Global Choice Canadian Experience, participants will immerse themselves in Canadian culture, traditions, and everyday life by living with carefully selected host families who have undergone a thorough screening process. These host families provide a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment, allowing participants to experience life as a true member of a Canadian family.
Combining high-quality education, authentic cultural immersion, and Canada’s remarkable natural landscapes, this program offers a unique opportunity to learn, grow, and discover Canada from a truly local perspective.
The program is primarily designed to provide a meaningful cultural immersion experience, giving participants the opportunity to experience Canadian school life and community firsthand. As students join during the middle of the school semester, school placement and course selection will be determined by the host school. While the program is not focused on academic assessment, participants will receive a Certificate of Achievement upon completion, along with feedback from their teachers on their progress. Participants are expected to actively engage in school life and attend classes daily, just like local students.
